inhaling in, now exhaling out
Rational analytic thought contains dangerous ground in that it provides long chains of logical reasoning to supply the ego with fuel. Cutting off the oxygen to a fire extinguishes it. Removing the constant rumination on rational objectives removes the fuel source to the ego. Conversely, the benefits of life provided by this are enormous: Calculus, computers, science, ect. But the choice of straying away from the ego also can provide the benefit of a peaceful conscious climate. Oh, back to my beautiful contradiction machine and riding the wave.
The wisdom in flip-flopping ones position relative to an already logically accepted resting-point that one egotistically supports. For example a person who contains infinite positivity as their moral basis. Let us then say that hypothetically your moral basis is deconstructionism. It really seems ugly to choose infinite positivity, aesthetically. But considering that in reality everything is one, there are lessons to be learned by not only frowning upon it, but considering it. Often it is the case that truly being able to comprehend a different vantage point in life, one has to first integrate it has their functional basis. Generally, mentally simulating a mode of being prior to adopting it, is the method of choice for determining a conclusion. I have recently learned that the ability of creating a logically fantastic representation of a simulated thing is indeed far from actually experiencing it.
I don't want to create some huge post, I just found this idea to potentially be very worth sharing. It also helps my memory to organize these thoughts through written language. I also have seen the theme of selflessness be continually mentioned as I've been reading though Buddhism. I find the idea of throwing this on my blog to once again be deeply in the category of contradiction. Is it selfless to share thoughts I find really helpful to me on my blog? Is it egotistical trying to effectively articulate an idea in a beautifully rational and meaningful manner? Modern spirituality, what an intense beautiful contradiction.
Cheers
