right mindfulness
So to start, we will look at the word seti. Seti means to recollect, to bring forth a memory, or to not forget. The process of not forgetting also means not allowing judgement to enter our mind. Because judgement is a mode of forgetting or not being fixated upon the memory brought forth. So, mindfulness practice is also quite contrary to creativity or activating ones spontaneous imagination. This is why practicing mindfulness is something that must be practiced and is considered hard work for the mind. The natural state of consciousness is incredibly spontaneous and sporadic. Also, there is the firmly ingrained logical analysis of curious disposition. This curiosity leads to investigating thoughts and acquires its momentum from craving and grasping for desirable rational or satisfactory conclusions.
I often see many parallels with the disciplines of mindfulness and that of being a musician. In being a person that has dedicated a fair portion of time to the piano, I have noticed the focus and attention required to play that instrument often resembles mindfulness. The concept of Seti was very interesting to me and I felt like sharing it like this to encourage my memory to grasp hold of this word and its meaning. I also felt that sharing this concept in this way could potentially benefit someone else.
